Fantomes
Fantomes began as a duo, but since 2021 it has been Mus—drummer and singer—who has carried the writing and production solo. His rock has become more direct and hard-hitting, blending urgency, catchy choruses, and powerful grooves. On stage, he is joined by a guitarist to deliver this raw intensity in a tight, energetic set that leaves little room to breathe.
His new EP, WoopWoop, marks this fully embraced shift: the tracks draw from grunge, indie rock, and punk while injecting a more festive, dance-punk edge. Thick guitars, pounding rhythms, and vocals that move from rage to unifying melodies run throughout.
On the EP, Mus expresses a visceral need to feel, to release, and to share: beneath the riffs and sonic power lies an emotional tension, a vulnerability, and a desire to bring the audience together in a cathartic experience. Fantomes today stands at the crossroads of unfiltered rock heritage and an openness to more danceable, liberating horizons.
